  1. the poem 'the charge of the light brigade is about a brigade of soldiers going into a battle which will ultimatly, become there annihalation.
    The poet feels sad for the light brigade but also feels proud for them as they made a massive sacrifice to fight for their country. for example the qoute 'jaws of death' personifies the battle the light brigade are about to face and that death itself is coming to engulf them, despite that knowledge though, the light brigad carries on, fighting fo there country. we learn that the poet's attitude to war is that they feel devestated by the thought of it and is disgusted about all of the killing but is also really proud of the soldiers who sacrificed themselves to save there country

  3. 'a life is a life' is mostly about the conflict between palestine and isreal but there is a hidden meaning to it aswell the qoute'we see for fourteen, you kill nine hundred' shows that just because the palestinians killed fourteen israeli they killed ninehundred palestineans which is like what the nazis had done to them during world war 2 but on a massive scale. the poet feels that mankind is just repeating its mistakes ratherthan just moving on

    Charge of the light brigade

    1) This poem is about 600 soldiers, who went to war, and got killed. They were happy to fight for their country, knowing that they were likely to lose, and die.

    2+3) The poet feels proud to be British, knowing that soldiers fought in honour and on their behalf. He does not feel ashamed, as they were brave, and fought for his, and the rest of the country's, freedom.

    4) We learn that the war was very dangerous, and risky. Many soldiers knew that they would die, but continued to ride "Into the Jaws of death, into the mouth of hell".

    The Soldier

    1) The poem is about a man, fighting in a war, and remenacing about his life there, in the heavenly English countryside.

    2) The poet feels happy, when he things of England, and it's stunning views and gentleness.

    3) He feels quite peaceful, humble and happy because he has lots of happy memories, of the beauty of England, and being being "under an English heaven".

    4) We learn that some soldiers just want to be remembered by all the good things they have done, and contributed, to serve their Queen and Country, if they were to die.

    A Life Is A Life

    1) The poem is about the Israelian conflict, and how unfair the amount of casualties were.

    2) The poet feels pitiful and dishonoured to be part of a country, that would kill 900 people, in comparison to 14.

    3) She presents her feelings by the use of emotional words, such as "self right", "pity", "holocaust", "weeping" and "weak".

    4) This poem teaches us the differences between the two sides, and how they differ.

    The Big Ask

    1) This poem is about the Iraq war.

    2) The poet feels misled, disappointed and unappreciated because of all the loss and damage caused, by this 'never-ending war'.

    3) The poet shows this by saying "What was it Sisyphus pushed up the hill?". This is referring to Sisyphus,the greek king, who was punished to push a large boulder up a hill- only for it to fall back down again.

    4) This poem teaches us about how unfair some things can be, such as war.

  6. the charge of the light brigade by april&katy!

    The poem charge of the light brigade is about the author is gratitude for the soldiers and horses that died for us. the quote ' in to the valley of death' the word 'valley' makes us think of death as being a dark and mysterious place, somewhere that no person would want to go. so he is saying the soldiers and brave and noble for sacrificing their lives for us.

  7. in the charge of the light brigade the poet, Alfred Tenneson, feels proud to say that the soldiers died for the country he lives in. when he says 'noble six hundred' he is expressing his thoughts as to how brave he thinks the soldiers and horses were. the word 'noble' means they are worthy and take great care in how they are in the war. He is showing how the soldiers keep him loyal to his country.

    The 'Charge of the light Brigade' is about six hundred noble soldiers who fight valiently for their country, however, they are all defeated disbite thier hard work and bravery which was not enoth to destroy their opponents:
    "Honour the charge they made,
    Honour the light brigade,
    Noble six hundred."
    This indicates that the soldiers did not die in vain, they died fighting for what they believed in. The word "Honour" suggests that instead of of mourning for the loss of the six hundred we should be proud of what they achieved, and honour them for the fact that they were the people who put themselves into a death zone by choice to fight for his country. While the rest of the public sits at home like wimps.

    in the charge of the light brigade the author feels proud of the soldiers because they died for our country and he is making everyone feel guilty in a way because he is saying that everyone should feel proud of the soldier's actions. when he says 'all the world wonder'd' we think he means that while the brave soldiers fought we all just sat waiting and wondering what was happening.

  11. 'Big ask', is a very emotional and gripping poem. It refers to the conflict US soldiers faced against Iraq, whilst also relating to the emotions people from army men to innocent civilians had experienced during the war. The poet, Carol Ann Duffy, had a spiteful and hateful style in her writing, almost insulting the US for destroying the once tranquil and peaceful land.

    Charge of the light brigade;
    1)Its about a brigade as soldiers fighting in the war which will result in many deaths.
    2+3)He felt a lot of respect for the soldiers, due to their bravery and the fact the soldiers sacrificed their lives for the wellbeing of the country.
    4)we learnt that people that went to fight in war were very respected and highly thought of.

    The Soldier;
    1)is about a soldiers point of view, wanting its family and friends to think of the good times rather than dwell on the fact that they could die at war.
    2)The poet is sympathetic towards the soldiers and is very respectful towards them and very proud.
    3)Because they obviousley have some connection with war and know how the soldiers would feel.
    4)We learnt that although war could be seen as throwing your life away, the attitude is quite the opposite in this case. In a way that war is seen as a positive and forfilling thing to do in life.

    A life is a life;
    1)is about the palastine and isralian war and about it being unfair. Also about the holocast and the fact that they had been through it themselves so they have no right to put people through the pain they faced.
    2)The poet feel thats its unfair and unesasery, they are taking the pain they suffered and using it against the enemy.
    3)Because the poet feels they were inocent and did not deserve to go through the pain they are suffering.
    4)We learnt that the far is unfair biast and not equal sided.

    Big Ask;
    1)This poem is about a war in iraq, relating to other wars to show opinions and views.
    2)the poet feels that the war is unfair and pointless, she believes there is no reason to fight and innocent people are being treated unfairly.
    3)the poet feels this about the war because she feels as though people are being wrongly descriminated and are not being giving their equal rights. she also feels as though the war is pointless and no real reason has been giving to fight.
    4)we have learnt that this war is unfair and unequal, we can tell that fake information given has caused the war and this makes it pointless and over exaggerated.

    In "The Soldier", Brooke implies that he believes that it is a noble and honourable thing to die for your country:
    "If i should die, think only this of me,
    That there's some corner of a foreign field
    That is forever England"
    This indicates that however many wars England may face, and however many times we win or lose England will always exist no matter what. There will always be a place where you can call home. The word "forever" demonstrates that that even when you die you have died for your country and will therefore always exist.

    in 'the charge of the light brigade' we can tell that the authors attitude is very patriotic, its as though nothing can stand in the way of his pride towards the soldiers. The quote 'honour the charge they made' is showing that he honours the actions the soldiers made and has very strong feelings towards what they do. The word 'honour'means to give pride to them or to show your respect for them.

    Charge of the Light Brigade-
    The poem is about remembering the noble 600 that went to war and died fighting for their country. The poet feels proud about the soldiers that fight for their country and feels that the soldiers should never be forgotten as they are noble and they went
    “Into the jaws of Death”
    This makes the war sound like hell. Tennyson feels this way because he respects people for risking their lives for others. We learn that his attitude to war is that he feels like he needs to get the point across about war and make everyone aware about the facts of the disturbing war and how many people died fighting for their country.

  16. The poem "charge of the light brigade" is about how 600 noble soldiers fought an unbeatable enemy, but their patriotism overcame thier fears and they were honoured to die for thier country.Alfred lord Tennyson feels respect for the soldiers as they did not give up even when they were outnumbered. Also he feels sympathy for the soldiers because they all had no chance of winning the war. Tennyson feels this way becuase of him empathy for the soldiers. This meant that Tennyson could feel how the soldiers felt when they entered the war zone.From the peom we can tell that Tennyson's atitued to war from the peom is not in favour of war. He seems very patriotic in the poem but we think this is towards the men that fought in the war and not towards war.

  17. Charge of the Light Brigade
    It is about a chareg which took place during the Battle of Balaclava. This was one of the many battles which took place during the Crimean War. It is abouthow the 600 soldeirs of the Light Brigade rode to their death through miscomunication from the head of the Light Brigade, Lord Cardigan. Tennyson shows that he feels they should always be remembered about how they gave their live for their country. He also expresses that more people should sign up to fight.

  18. The charge of the light brigade, is about a group of soldiers proceeding through the valley of death, the poet makes the audience feel synpathetic to the soldiers that showed their patriotism. This charge took place in the Battle of Balaclava, this is a war that took place in the Crimean war.

  19. Charge of the light brigade;
    The peot honours the bravery of the 600 men who rode to their death, he graces their patriotism, he does this by praising their actions, he makes them seem heroic by naming the the valley of death, describing the guns etc. He does to show how brave they were and how they should be honoured.

  22. The Charge Of The Light Brigade is about a brigade of six hundred men that were foolishly led to their deaths by a nieve commander.
    "storm'd at with shot and shell, boldly they rode and well."
    This quotation shows that Tennyson's view on death; it shows that he believes that it is a noble and proud thing to die for your country in battle.

  23. the poem "The Soldier" is about a soldier that is talking about how he will be happy to die for his country. the poet is feeling very patriotic and proud to be English. He uses the soldier in the poem to show how he feels about war and his respect towards some soldiers that sre fighting for their lifes and country. the poet feels this way because he feels strongly about people fighting to make others lifes better, and this inspired him to write a poem in memory of the soldiers. From the peom we learned that Rupert Brooke's attitued to war is very strong and understanding. Through the poem we can tell that Brooke does not believe that war is immoral, he believes that war is good and in the peom he uses what he knows about war to show his gratitued towards the soldiers and England.

  24. 'Charge of the light Brigade'

    The poem is about a cavalry unit advancing towards the enemy during the Battle of Balaclava in the Crimean war in 1854. A miscommunication resulted in the slaughtering of the whole unit. The wording and language used in the poem suggests that the poet feels extremely strongly about what happened that day. The word “noble” gives the impression that the poet believes the soldiers were brave and loyal to their country:
    “Came thro' the jaws of Death”,
    This quote implies the soldiers were riding straight to their death where they would be killed. We learn through this poem that the poet believes war is a brutal place where people fight for their countries, as patriots and where you are not guaranteed to come home.

  25. The charge of the light brigade

    The charge of the light brigade is about a large brigade who mas irresponsibly lead in to a slaughter house on horseback by a foolish commander.
    The poet feels proud of them as they died a noble death for their country. This could be seen as propaganda.
    They feel proud of these men as they feel they died for him and a future generation in the poets eyes these soldiers are heroes of there countries.
    They think it is a proud thing to die for their country and they think that war make people propper men.

    The Soldier

    The soldier is by Rupert Brooke and is about the glorious nation England in it the poet talks about how wonderful and how much of a great place England is also the poet talks about how if he died he died for his home country England.
    The poet feels that it he dies it doesn't matter because he has died for a good cause. he is also very patriotic about war.
    He feels this way because he thinks of England as a glorious country and for him to die for it he would almost feel honoured.
    He thinks that war is a good chance to show your brave and willing to fight for your country, and if you die for your country you show that you trust and believe in your country.

  26. Charge of the Light Brigade
    The charge of the light brigade is about a battle for Balaclava. The poem shows how 600 soldiers on horses rode to their death as they were mowed down by new guns. The poem shows a negative point of view to war,
    'Into the mouth of hell'
    The term 'hell' shows war as the most evil place to earth which no one should have the misfortune to go to. On the other hand we know he has alot of respect for this brave brigade, even thoough they died. We can see why he feels this way because the order should have never been made, they shouldn't have attacked and even though eveybody knew the would die. They still were forced to charge. Overall we can clearly see that the pooets attitude to war is a negative one as he talks about the problem with the tactics and that nobody should have died on that day. Also the poet shows agret deal of pride not for war itself, but for the warriors fighting. They were not allowed to complain or ask questions. And that is why they died.

  28. The poem "A life is a life" is about a war between Palestine and Isreal. In the war Isreal brought Palestines homeland and then Palestine wanted it back. This ended up in war but Isreal absolutly destroyed the Palestine army. The poet feels sympathy for palestine because when palestine killed 14 isreal killed 900 in return. This realy saddened the poet. Marguerite Rami feels this way because she feels that after the holocaust, Isreal should have learnt that it is horrible to murder so many people and demolish a lot of lives. From the peom we learn that Rami believes that war is distcusting because of the way she talks about how human's are being treated like animals when she said " hearding the old and the weak like cattle". She hates war
