  27. Page 6: "How'd you like that haircut to begin just below the chin?"

  28. Page 25: "We left when the switchblades came out, because the cops would be coming soon"
This is Ponyboy thought of what they do when they are having a rumble.
They leave when the switchblades come out because even greasers have common sense. They know that when a knife comes out the police won't be far behind it.

page 196 (Ponyboy talking about Bob) "I looked at Bob's picture and i could begin to see the person we had killed. A rackless and hot tempered boy, cocky and scared stiff at the same time". This quote shows that even though Bob was a Soc, Ponyboy is showing remorse and is begining to understand that maybe Soc's and Greasers aren't really very different.

  34. Page 6 - "It occured to me then that they could kill me" This hsows that the gangs go to extremes just to try and intimidate each other

    ReplyDelete
  35. Page 174: "Neither one of my brothers had ever been beaten in a fight."
This is Ponyboy talking about his brothers Soda and Darry.
If they had never lost a fight before then the chances of them coming back victorious were high. It also means that they must have practised a lot to never have lost before.
