Your Exam Skills Unit

Each lesson, I will write a new chapter of a story and set you activities to help you develop the skills and knowledge (which you indentified today) which you will need to succeed in your reading exam. As a comment on this post, please post any ideas you have to drive the narrative of a story set in the fictional town of Boster.

  1. A ghost story where someone died in an ancient house and goes around haunting the old remains of it (where someone now lives)and that 'someone' tries to find out what happened and who the Phantom is. Or, a fantasy story where there's an apprentice training to be a dark magician or something.

  2. A patient in a mental hospital has dreams about a town called Boster where the residents appear to be the ones who are insane. The mental patient believes he is sane and thinks that Boster is the real world and he has to find out what has happened to all the people; what caused them to become mad. When he is discharged from hospital, he stops having the dreams, making him even more insane as he thinks he is stuck in his imagination. He then goes on a search for a town that doesnt exist in the real world, or what appears to be the real world.

  4. Spoof of cooper school. E.g teachers are cannibals who `punish` students who fall behind.

  5. There is a person who keeps attacking, and almost killing but not that far, people that go to Copper School on their way to school or on their way home. They close the school down for a month and the attacks stop but then re-open it to educate the students but the attacks then happen more frequently. Is this attacker trying to send a message to the residents of Boster, and why? Or is it someone inside the school working undercover? The endless possibilities...
